I’ve been doing this for some time now to research markings and vehicle details. Unfortunately more information about the weapons, vehicles and markings of the BEF are in these photos than there is in official British archives.
Photos can get very expensive and most serious collectors use sniper software that places their bids seconds before the auctions end. As usual with eBay today, you rarely win by bidding early.
I have images now of nearly every Matilda II and a lot of Matilda I’s that fought in the 1940 Campaign in France and Flanders. I hope to publish a book about the 1st Army Tank Brigade during this campaign.

Confirmed in France, reserves of the 1st Army Tank Brigade located south of the river Somme. These reported to see action with 1st Armoured Division. There might be 6 of these to equal the total lost. (3 missing) These tanks are void of names and the trench crossing skid.
