Mark Austen's otherwise fine Sherman on display at http://www.track-link.net/gallery/5841 shows a problem that has plagued US AFV modelers for decades: "floating" packs on the turret.

I've got a product suggestion that could be a bonanza for modeler and manufacturer alike: musette bags and packs with integrated straps and tiedowns for attachment to US tanks and half-tracks. There is probably a way you could make a set that even has the metal bars welded to the sides of the tank with the bags hanging off them.

I'm sure you guys probably have photos in your references as to how these were hung to the tiedowns, beyond just the little tabs provided by Tamiya (and most other bags, like Verlinden's, don't even have the tabs). If not, I'll bet our US AFV community here could post them.

Here's your chance to help free modelers from one more construction error--and some of their cash!

What do you think?

Tim
