Yeah I see your point. Mine was a bad analogy in that sense. I caught Brian's point, but sort of smudged my response with that.

In both instances, cars and models, "good enough" is not a static point. "good enough" isn't determined by what's in the box. It's determined by the end result of what you want to achieve. Just as our "good enough" point has been moved by better kits, so has the rivet counters'.

For my part, I don't have anything against rivet counters. But their devotion to accuracy - or their perception of accuracy - often includes a pergorative inference for those of us who will buy the kit, build it the way we like, and be perfectly happy with the result.

We all know no one will ever build a model that is perfectly detailed as the original. Even the real vehicles differ when coming off the production line. To categorically state that every Panzer 4 dimension is such and such, is not seeing the forest for the trees.

Anyway I'm going to go home and practice my analogies...
