You are right on the money. In the days when I was finishing models like a production line it was because I spent a dedicated hour a night at the model table. If you do so, the kit gets done! In the last two years I've found it hard to dedicate the time because of other things (like learning the guitar) etc.

I always tripped up when something came along to break the routine like my two weeks reserve duty or travel for work. But once I get in the groove, the models get done.

Another thing I've done to overcome AMS barriers is to set a deadline to get something done. For example, if there is apart that might need tweaking or etch or something to make it right, I will say this needs to be done in two days (this includes research, buying stuff and the work itself). If I can't fins the stuff or do the research, it gets built to a 'good enough" standard and I move on. This type of thing in the past slowed me down greatly.

For most kits I accept an "80% solution," and move on. Every now and then I'll go all out and try to do everything right, but those projects take long.

All have to do is look at my ever growing stack of un-builts to realize I need to just build and get on with it.
