It started with the old 1/32 Monogram kits, which had the Shep Paine diorama booklet. Bought it at the G.C. Murphy's. That had to be in the early 70's. I think my first Tamiya kit was 1/35 Kubelwagen, the one with the metal axles. I quit building kits sometime in the early 80's and in the last 4-5yrs. have picked it up again. My son games on his computer and was playing MS Combat Flight Sim, and I thought I would show him the aircraft they were simulating by building several WWII aircraft of different nationalities along with a trip to Airforce museum in Dayton. It wasn't until my son picked up a copy of Battlefield 42 in the bargain bins, that I purchased the DML Tiger I initial release to once again illustrate what was being simulated in the game. When I started construction on that kit I was floored at the level of detail Armor kits had achieved in my absence. I've been building armor since.
