| The timelines are so identical...for me, 1975, 5th grade, walked to the local shopping center and baught the Monogram "Screamin Mimi" kit with my own money, found the Shep Paine pamphlet inside and read it over again and again for years. Discovered Tamiya and Military Modeler magazine, loved those Tamiya ads, too. Sent off for their catalog. Lost interest at 15, rediscovered on the eve of my 30th birthday, and surprised at how much joy it braught me. One nice note, too, is that it doesn't take that much disposable income to enjoy, compared to many other adult persuits. I agree, a great topic to talk about. |
