My brother and I pooled our pocket money to get DAK and Aussie troops to play with out the back (late last year, na just taking the mickie :)) back in the sixties.
We also could get a 72nd plastic kit that came in a bag with a cardboard header. I don't remember who produced them but the tank (StuG III) was cheaper than the men.
My first 35th kit was a Soviet SU85 with 2 motors and the controls at the end of wires, then nothing until my early thirties.
