At the rate I have been going the last few years, it would take a fair stack of reincarnations to work through that list. But when I was a kid and may have seen that ad it would have been a realistic assumption to build that much in a couple years. Tube glue and the old goopy Testors enamels were all I knew then, and sometimes I wonder if it was more fun that way.

I got started with an antique car kit my aunt got as a promotion from a Citgo gas station, molded in colors, and I have long forgotten the car it was based on. Then I got a hot rod kit of a Paul Revere and the Raiders custom car from the car show in Manhattan and learned that glue does not work on chrome and that Testors yellow paint is even goopier than most of the rest of it. That kept me away for a couple of years until I saw the box art for a B-25 bomber from 30 Seconds Over Tokyo, had to have it, saved my allowance for weeks and weeks. After that I was hooked...
