My parents went to Detroit...to see the Baltimore Colts play the Lions...they brought back the 1/72 Airfix Lockheed Hudson...about 1966-67, 1st model and I played with it like a toy. Did planes for a few years, Airfix, Revell, Frog, Monogram and MPC...went to a 5 & 10 saw Monogram WW2 armor that I could "play" with, adding them to my large collection of WW2 MARX plastic soliders...hours of fun.
1970 or 71 in a READS drugstore in the old US Military Modeling mag, saw a Tamiya ad...1st 2 Tamiya kit's I got, PZ II F, again played with it, along with the DAK figures, then the 251 Hanomag. From then on hooked on 1/35th armor. Mike. |
