Following on from my "Sherman knowledge" topic where someone asked why the Sherman was appealing to modellers, I thought it might be interesting to ask the larger question "Why do you like what you like?".

I guess I started with German WW2 armour, why? I don't know really, I guess as a kid I thought it was "cool". Over time I learned more and more about it. I found the, at the time, "mysteries" of late war German armour fascinating. Now-a-days, with all the new research available this late war period is not that much of a mystery, so naturally my interest in WW3 German armour has waned.

I like to build models of British armour, from WW1 to present time. Why? Well I am originally from Great Britain which is a factor but mostly because my uncle, who was an M3 Grant driver in Burma during WW2, one day told me that I should stop building German tanks and build British ones. He bought me the Tamiya Grant too.

Being a good patriotic Canadian I am also interested in Canadian armour, from WW2 to present day. There are no other reasons for this interest other than I am Canadian.

Also a lot of my interests now stems from what certain manufacturers release, I love anything from Tristar and Tasca.

I also like Star Wars models, but they don't count :-)

Please share your interests and reasons behind them.

Thanks,
Paul.
