I try to work on kits for at least an hour each evening, but that almost
never happens. Usually I get home from work, help my wife with dinner, eat
and watch a bit of TV, and then go up to the model room. I usually get to
spend about 10 minutes in there before the first interuption of the eveing
and then that is it. I always devote at least an hour on Saturday or Sunday
(unless we go out of town or have guests) to modeling, but like everyone
else says here I start many, but finish few. The past three kits that I
have started have gotten me so frustrated that I have put them down.
Unfortunately for me, I enjoy the obscure subjects (mostly early war
Russian) which don't get any attention from the major manufacturers so the
kits I build aren't the best and require a good amount of TLC (I am
currently working on the AER T-38 and the RPM TK-3).
When I do model, I like it either completely quiet or with some soft
background music. I do my modeling in a spare bedroom with nothing but
modeling supplies and a fish.
