Subject:  Why not more link & length?List thread.

I find good link and length tracks as in the Trumpeter KV series and the Tamiya 1/48 kits to be the best of both worlds. Easy to assemble and with sag if needed. The only downside is that you are limited to a flat base.

Tamiya never really bought in to individual tracks and Dragon's newer Shermans have abandoned individual tracks in favor of high quality band tracks.

I suspect that manufacturers see that those who dislike individual tracks are reluctant to buy kits with them, while those who like individual track will still by kits with band tracks and replace them.

While some kits come with both (Acadamy M3, M18) this is a relatively expensive solution. I think we will see more band tracks in kits leaving individual tracks to the aftermarket folks.
