I think that before you start this "superdetailing" you must have a good supply
of reference material for support. in other words " have all your ducks in a
row". because after you do something no matter how minor or major, you take it
to a contest the judge or judges will pick it apart. If you plan to leave it at
home and admire it there don't sweat it to much.
As far as what material you use to add to your model, plastic, brass, lead foil,
and so on. I get alot of mine from where I work. Just keep your eyes open for
bit and pieces of junk, scrap or what ever you want to call it. I made some
cables for a M32 tank Recovery vehicle a while back. I went thought alot of
different sizes of stranded wire at work before I found something that looked
just right. I twisted a bunch of them together using different a number of
strands before I got the look I was looking for. Just experiment and ask
questions. I'm no expert on any of this mind you.
Just remember that this is your piece of plastic and you can do it how ever you
like. Just build to have fun and relax. When it ain't fun anymore, its time to
give it up.
Keep on gluing,
Chris B
