I agree with what Yuchung says about DML making more unique kits as oppossed
to Tamiya who mainly sticks with the sure sellers. Don't get me wrong I
like the Tiger, Panther, and Sherman, but I get a little tired of seeing
them as that is what well over 50% of modellers do. I find Steve Zaloga's
work very refreshing as he tends to build some more obscure vehicles. I
also agree with Yuchang in that Tamiya's old kit reboxing technique is a
scam. Everyone says that Tamiya is the best (and for the most part I agree
at least when it comes to their newer stuff) so when a new modeller goes to
buy that M-41 Walker Bulldog kit are they going to buy the Tamiya re-release
or the upcoming Academy kit which is almost definately going to be world's
better. I would like to see Tamiya go back and revisit some of their old
kits rather than re-release (Matilda II first please).
Sorry to rant,
Adam
