Realistically...

1. I think it's only a couple years before workable suspensions become
the standard ala FriulModellismo and ModelKasten tracks.

2. Workable tracks may be glue free, because the technology will allow
for realistic pins to be inserted and bolted into the cleats (and not
fall out) ala the real thing.

3. PE technology will continue to improve, so much so, that we might
even see pre-formed/pre-shaped metal parts the thickness of PE without
the removal or bending hassle of PE, much stronger and holds shape
better.

4. Real cloth like texture to uniforms and such for figures might be a
few years off as well. Heck for figures, just make nothing but forearms,
heads, hands, torsos, thighs, shins, and boots....so people can pick the
poses they want.

Futurama type stuff:
An easy, user intuitive CAD program co-sponsored by a major model
company with some basic AFV blueprints and figures outlines. You then
"trick it out" as you see fit, conversions, markings, interior, on and
on, by selecting the options and /or actually drawing the components.
Send the company the plans via email/WWW, and the company generates the
molds and makes a kit for you. A few weeks later, you get the kit you
want to assemble.

My U.S. $.02,
Steve Frost
