Why do you think it's called after market stuff?

That's because the original manufacturer didn't do his job right.
When they tooled the kit without any errors or oversized or less detailed parts,
there was no demand for after market stuff.

So when they include stuff like that in there "Master" versions, the detail
wouldn't be better I guess.

I also think there's little market for these things, the general complaint about
model kits these days are the high prices.

On the other hand a good example for this kind of "Hi-Tech" kits are Panzershop,
JP Model and Eagle Models.
They include a lot of neat stuff in their hi-tech kits like Friul tracks,
Modelpoint Barrels, PE and a CD with detail shots.
Next to this they have a cheaper model without all the fancy details but
replaced by resin parts.

But we're only talking about $100+ kits!
