The DML kits, with the indy links, can be daunting to even an
experienced modeler, let alone a newbie or youngster. The newer Tamiya
kits are fairly straightforward.

But this is where those older Tamiya kits, and even some Italeri kits,
come into play with the younger modelers. While most of us bemoan the
old Stuarts and Hanomags, they are farily simple kits for kids. Not too
many parts, and with the Tamiya kits you get clear instructions.

These kits still have their place. Maybe if Tamiya repackaged them into
something more "sexy" they'd sell better into this niche.
