Adam,

I agree with you about making history classes more fun. High school history
classes are quite bland and often times so are college courses. The key
seems to be focusing the class instead of trying to cover such a broad
range. I must have caught a lucky break finding a good professor in college
who liked studying military history.. I was able to take American Military
History, a World War II History class, as well as two separate independent
study classes in which the Prof. allowed me to read books about armor and
even take models in. There seems to be an interest in the niche classes as
they fell up rather quickly so it just seems to be giving students the
opportunity to take them.

Putting this back on topic, I think if younger modelers can get some
exposure not only to the subject, but also to modeling, it makes a big
difference. The background in schooling can give ideas for modeling while
exposure to modeling can show the possibilities. I started building some
Star Wars kits, etc. but then when I saw the possibilities with armor,
coupled with what I had learned in school, it really made me want to build.
Even when I hit a lapse in building, history classes can quickly rekindle
the desire for me and could work to get others interested.

Landon
