Hi Neville,
I see one flaw in your otherwise excellent idea. If the model manufacturers
were to do this for these master kits, it is now them that has to round up these
items from the aftermarket manufacturers and they will tack on their little bit
for doing so. Then there is the little bit tacked on for the unbelievable
logistics in making sure that all these master kits contain what they are
supposed. The storage, inventory control, shipping and receiving, etc. of these
aftermarket items will all be added into the final price. You have to remember
that Tamiya, Dragon and Italeri would all be doing this on a large scale as
compared to some small resin manufacturer that includes these items in their
kits.
And just as a side bar for those that feel the manufacturers should already
include certain details in their kits, the approximate amount it cost
Revell/Monogram for the molds for one car kit is upwards of $150,000.00. So the
more detail you want in your kits the more it cost Tamiya to make the molds and
that cost is past on to us. Case in point the Dragon Wagon and the Famo!!

Okay, I'm ready to get hammered on this now!!
