I suspect Eduard does it because it has its hands in both games, the plastic and the
PE. And since they and Aber have pretty much sewn up the PE market, why would a
company want to get into that fray? Perhaps Tamiya and DML see the additional costs
involved and feel it's not worth passing on to the consumer as long as there is such
strength at Eduard and Aber.

I can't comment on R/M, other than I thought the pro-modeller kits were older issues
and they weren't packaging them now.

Anyway, quality in one area doesn't ensure quality in another (see Verlinden's resin
vs. PE). I still think this type of packaging is best done by the retailers. They
actually have the ability to include the best items (from the lines they carry) with
the kit, and at a discounted price as Squadron does.
