This is a fact. The limited sales may have resulted from limited subjects,
but everything has to start somewhere. Archer had a limited selection of
armor sets at one time, too.

I think you'll find that this is true as well. I read articles, read
postings, and actually talked to modelers whose view can be boiled down to
"I don't have a problem with clear coats and setting solutions."

Have you closely examined even the "good" aircraft decals? The image
quality is not as good as Woody's dry transfers. "Slight" registration
errors are common, mentioned in reviews, and yet apparently not a problem
because the sheets still sell.

This is an opinion. However, I did not come across this directly. I
learned of this viewpoint from several hobby shop owners and multi-subject
(cars - planes - tanks - figures) dealers at shows. After witnessing
behavior that perfectly fit this stereotype I adopted the opinion as my own.

And just as a bit of background, I started off building aircraft models 30 +
years ago. I have more built a/c models lying around than I do tanks.
Until recently, I had more unbuilt plane kits than anything else. I have
more aviation reference material to this day than I do armor. I still build
plane kits, in addition to ships, dinosaurs, science/anatomy kits, and
spacecraft/rockets. I have been a member of IPMS/USA since 1978 or 79
(#16139) and I am looking forward to going to the Nationals at the end of
this month. This, I believe, entitles me to have an opinion and to express
same.

Thanks,
KL
