I partly agree with you, and this truck by Jorge Lopez was my favorite model at
Euromilitaire last year. My problem is with people who try to emulate the
method of a few masters and go way overboard :-( And that people seem to find
those models very nice because it's "politically correct" (or should I say
"modellistically correct"?) to apply this sort of weathering.

Sorry I can't give examples of the dozens of such models seen recently in
magazines,competitions and website, I don't want this to get personal but I
feel there is a trend.

Also a bit of variety doesn't hurt, if a dusty vehicle is OK for some theaters
of operation, it's a bit boring to see EVERY model treated that way regardless
of period, theater, peacetime or wartime, etc...
