| Subject: | Need help taking photos of real vehicles | |
| Date: | Aug 28, 2002 |

Hi,
I would appreciate any tips and advice in taking color photos of real
vehicles for a publication. Some questions I have are:
* Is it best to always have the ENTIRE vehicle fit inside the eyepiece than
cropping off the head or rear of the vehicle? If I do crop, should I always
include the head or rear (and crop the vehicle in the middle?).
* Which side is best to take a photo of? The sunny side or the shaded side?
* What is the ratio the vehicle should take in the picture? 55% of the
picture? 90% 75%?
* Is it best to take an angled oblique shot (get the most information) or
head-on? (Is there any angle I should avoid?)
* Is it better to take a poor-quality shot of an important training event or
save the film and take the time to snap only good-quality shots?
* Is it absolutely critical to take a steady horizontal/ vertical shot? (No
tilting of the camera?).
Any other tips or things to avoid?
Thanks in advance,
Pete |
