I agree that there are times when you don't feel like building. I had
spent almost 18 months on a master one time and when just about
finished, I just couldn't bear to go near it. Didn't want to look at all
the little bits again. Didn't want to have to check my references to see
how the next obscure piece should be.
I took about 4 months off completely and then when I got the urge again,
I came back and built a Sci-fi tank out of random bits in the spares
box. Lots of fun. Painted it green and purple (!) with rust dapple
(Strange as it may seem, the tones actually do match really well. I like
it a lot.). I took another couple weeks breather and then, all of a
sudden, I wanted to make sure the fender hangers on the master were
right and I was off to the races again.
Builders block will fade away when you've had enough of a break. Don't
try to work through it on a project you care about or you are bound to
come to grief.
