Hello,
I find that when building the models is loosing its zest I can fix it by going to the museum. In my case, it is the Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles. I volunteer some time their and it really gets the juices flowing again. I may only end up sweeping the floor at the end of the day...but I am sweeping the floor next to a Dingo in the shop...or a real M3 Grant tank! Sure as shooting, I always notice a detail I can model.
Are you anywhere near the East Coast of the US? If so, make plans to attend the VMMV open house on October 5. It runs from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. You'll get to see the collection, a number of the vehicles will be driven, and our guest speaker was in the first wave on Omaha Beach! You need renewed inspiration? I got your renewed inspiration! And if you miss this date the tanks will be out (at least, many of them.) at the Manassas Airport for a three day show called Freedomfest. Check out VMMV.org. If you or any of your model building friends would like to attend the open house, just register on the website. It is free. BRING A CAMERA! (Otherwise, youi can see the runners in my videos! ;) If you fly in the day before there are cheap motels in Manassas and Warrenton. If you do come say "hi" to the Panzer leutenant running the video cameras!
Sincerely,
Richard Isner |
