| Subject: | Modelling and obsession - My experience | |
| Date: | Sep 27, 2002 |
| From: | Herve Charbonneau | |
Yes, I think modeling can be a very obsessive, even disruptive.
In my case, the obsession seems to be inversely proportional to the time spent modeling, i.e., the less time I can spend on my models, the more obsessed I become with the hobby. This then translates into compulsive buying. It also becomes a constant source of distraction, as my thoughts always seem to drift back to modeling, whatever I'm doing.
And yes, modeling is also an anti-social activity, especially for an isolated modeler like me, who has very few direct contacts with fellow modelers. This is where the Internet becomes a substitute to social life.
And finally yes, I am helpless.
