I have played many games and I think the platoon level ground combat game based on the IL2 engine due out next year will be very nice. You should check it out (Eastern Front Game).

That aside, if any of you grognards want a hell of a deal on a still solid game I would recommend Talonsoft's Campaign series. You get Eastern Front II, Western Front, and the Pacific Front plus an expansion for each (thats 6 CD's) for 50 bucks. The Oldest one was released in late 1998 so its not too dated and its the type of game that holds it's own. The unit level is Platoon, so a counter might equal 10-60 guys, depending on strength, or 1-6 armor units. It is very accurately based, though, and there are over 1000 units in the game. For instance, campaigning in Africa, you will look forward to your PIV updates coming down the pipe, as well as heavier artillery or a new type of SP, all accurate to time or place. If you just want to play the scenarios, the package includes over 360. Kharkov 1942, which is one of the biggest, encompasses 3 SS divisions, all scaled to the platoon level, attacking from 3 ax'es and is a beast to play. I would say a turn takes 45 minutes and its a 50 turn scenario.
