Hi Nico
I have an Olympus Camedia Brio 150.
It has optical zoom, a decent macro, and about 1 megapixel resolution.
It works well for model pictures, and I got it with a 32 MB flash card. You
can take lots of high-res pictures before it fills up.
As the others have suggested, look at resolution and Optical zoom. That is,
your camera should have a real zoom lens that you can focus. I have also used
a Casio C-3000. Nice camera, more resolution than the Olympus, but it cost a
lot more. It comes with a mini harddrive. I bought it for my old job, and got
a 500MB IBM smartdrive. You never run out of space then! The pictures were
moderately better than the Olympus, and you could get a bit closre. Of course
it cost 4 times as much, and loading pics onto my Mac is easier with the
Olympus.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll get inundated with suggestions. There was a recent
thread on Armorama on the same topic.
Choose your price, and buy as much optical zoom as you can in that price range
with a macro function for closeups!
