Let's see, hummm..., $1000.00 CDN equals, what? $25.50 US right? (Sorry, couldn't help it ;-)
I'll need to think this through though. One serious problem with Poly Isocyanate and related resins is their tendency to absorb water from the air. Once this happens they'll start to foam while curing which of course is a "bad thing". Where I live the air is comparativley moist so this absorbtion happens pretty quickly. I try to avoid buying more than I can use in only a few months so small batches are the order of the day. The result is I'm used to paying a premium.
The situation with RTV is MUCH better though. I still have a few pounds of a 5lb. batch I bought 10 years ago and it remains as good as the day I bought it (Dow Corning Silastic J, yup, the green stuff).
