IIRC the A and B versions share a lot of parts but the B type came out first and is/was only sold with the Panzer III. The A is the B kit with extra parts for the A type, but not all the B parts, if I remember properly. I know there are a lot of extra parts and you have to cut some of the B parts to configure the kit for the A.
