Peter,
Resin figures are probably the first introduction to that medium for most
modelers (as opposed to a full kit, or even an upgrade). Since they're fairly
simple to construct I don't gear my figure reviews to any particular skill
level.
I focus on accuracy, how "real" the pose is, level of detail, sculpting and
casting quality, how tall the figure scales, and what equipment is included. If
it's not a full construction review I dry fit the parts to see if there are any
significant problems or challenges.
As much as we want reviewers to be "objective," it really is a subjective matter
-- we bring to it our level of skill, expectations, biases, etc. Where we can
be "objective" is to not have preconceived notions or personal axes to grind.
Our comments should be substantiated by the quality (or lack thereof) of the
product at hand.
