Sorry, no... not without some more work, it seems.
Differences and corrections (kit is a modified post-War LVT)
Early LVT-4 had periscopes on both hatches, and these were covered with
plastic semi-spheres. These tended to fog up, and so they were deleted,
along with the periscope on the left hatch.
Early LVT-4 did not have machinegun, armored vision ports, etc.
Early LVT-4 did not have applique armor on hull sponsons as is molded on
the kit. Aparently some WW2 LVTs did have applique added. Look in the
Squadron book and you will see several different sponon arrangements for
the LVT-4. Clear photos of the bow are harder to find. The kit has a
curved metal panel that overlaps the bow. If you leave this off, there is
a very difficult gap to fill at the top.
British armament usually a bit different than US. Many had a 20mm Polsten
cannon on the front, and two .50s or .30s on the side. |
