John,
I would assume that you just got a mistake because I have been using
Friulmodel for a long while now and have never had that happen. In regards
to your question about whether or not Modelkasten is any better, I am of the
opinion that they are not. Others will disagree, but let me give you my
reasoning. I have built 10-15 sets of Friulmodel tracks and 2-3 sets of
Modelkasten tracks. In all cases with the Friulmodel, they were easy to
clean, easy to put together, looked great, stayed together without any
problems, and left me with plenty of left-overs. With the Modelkasten
tracks, they looked great, but they took a lot longer to clean, took a lot
longer to build (not hard just time consuming), broke in numerous places
while attaching them to the tanks and while weathering, and left me with
very few spares. Besides all that the Modelkasten tracks cost about $5
more. In summary, both sets look great, but Friulmodel are much easier to
work with, are stronger, give plenty of spares, and cost less. What more
could you ask for?
HTH,
Adam

and now I am constrained only by budget and space - I ran into a situation
that has me flummoxed. I meticulously cleaned, assembled, and primed my
first Friulmodel tracks for a KV-I/II. Upon placing them on my KV-14 (gez
they look great), I discovered that I have two of the same side.

with the willingness of modelers to share hard-gotten information on this
website, other websites, and the few meetings I have attended. I would like
the modeling (and after-market) industry to add to the getting and giving of
information. Too often, particularly with Verlinden for example, you get a
box, parts, and illustrated breakdown. What are some of those gizmos and
things, what is their function?

AFVs, like the National Air and Space Museum, which preserves prototype
