I've probably built 15 Tamiya T-34's in my time, and have to agree that the DML kit is considered the better of the lot. That said, the Tamiya kits are FUN to build and offer a lot of interesting options. They're also a lot less "fiddly" than the DML kits.
Tamiya King Tigers -- depends on which version you're speaking of. Tamiya made a King Tiger a long time ago that's definitely not up to modern standards. However, their new releases of same are superb.
