Dave,
I assume you are referring to the 'louvre' panels seem on the front, read, and sides og Coalition vehicles, rather than the bright orange 'day-glo' sheets, also seen on many vehicles.
These appear to be a zig or thin sheet (possibly aluminium) in a rectanglar frame. I'd estimate the standard frame (or strictly most observed) looks about 3'x2' (possibly 1m x 0.5m).
Notable exceptions I've noticed are Warriors which have smaller panels either side of the rear door, and Abrams which have two smaller panels on either end of the turret rear plate.
I have noticed a Warrior with the louvres tied on side loads without the frame.
I understand a major resin manufacturer is planning a selection in resin.
