I never had any problems. I don't have the part numbers handy, but the things you need are the cone on the tip of the brush, which is now like a crown but older tips were perforated aroudn the edge. Then there is the small brass nozzle that is very tiny. It screws into the tip of the brush. Then you need the matching needle. If you use a larger needle it will split the little cone. I have not had any trouble with parts not matching up, aside from some problems I was having with a very old brush not matching some redesigned newer parts.
