Hi Dave,
Unless your doctor has done TWO liver functions tests and both show high readings I wouldn't worry about it too much. I had a similar thing happen three years ago ( I get a yearly test from the company I work , well, worked for) where the reading for SGOT was 5 times higher than normal. Of course I was VERY concerned but the doc told me calm down and in a few weeks we did another test and I was back to a normal level.
Even if two test show "a problem" this may not be too worrysome. There are a nuber of fairly harmless issues (like fat build up around the liver) that can cause readings to go high. Talk to your doc and ask questions. If you don't like the answers find another doctor who's more helpful,
