Kurt's reply is how I've dealt with this in the past. Always good to ask before bidding too!!
My wife sells stuff on eBay, and had someone here in Rochester ask to pickup something. Although not a big hassle, the person came at a different time than expected, but otherwise it was no big deal. I can see it being a drag to
wait for hours on someone though.
