Here are my comments, to add to the list of Roberto

I am from Montreal and I am living in Rome since Summer 2001. I have done the tour of the hobby shops in Rome, and here is my recommendation list for you. (I am francophone, so my english is not perfect)

The best one is Nair Hobby, Circonval Ostiense 287. It is specialized in armour stuff. I believe you are canadian, so it is like Hobby Junction in Dorval, but add all the european lines like Model Victoria, Royal Model, Friul, Aber, Edouard, full Verlinden and other ones from Eastern Europe. Prices are good, they are open from Mo to Fri from 16h30 to 19h30, and Sat from 09h30 to 13h00 and 16h30 to 19h30. Metro line B, station Garbatella

Second one is Modelismo Mastrocinque, located at Via Gela 33, Metro line A, station Ponte Lungo. Good inventory of generic things, like Tamiya, Italeri, some Gunze, no Dragon. Good prices. Some aftermarket stuff also periodically available.

Third is Baby's Store, Via G. Severano, 35-37, Metro Line B, Station Bologna. Specialized in Figures, and carrying the Model Victoria lines, as well as other resin kit of italian veh., like Historica.

Forth one is Alfa Model on Via Somalia. Good prices. Specialized in figures.

And CRI.EL. It is an hobby shop, but with few things on the shelves. If you go there, it is to buy one of their kits. Before buying, I recommend you to read some review of their kits, since some of them are very good, like the AB 41, and other one not, and normally their kits are pricy, around 70 Euro, so 120 CDN$.

For your info, best place to buy modelling stuff in italy is Milan.

Ciao
