Ken,

The Gebirgsjäger (mountain troops) belong to the Infanterie.
In WW2, the Gebirgsjäger were found in every theatre of war.
In Finland there was a complete Gebirgsjägerarmee (20. Geb.AOK) consisting of several Gebirgskorps.
Furtermore in Yugoslavia, Italy, southern Russia/Rumania, and the 6. SS-Gebirgsdivision fought in eastern France (Elsass) (1944).
