 Subject:  Hobby Shop Owners: How Was 2003?List thread.

Honestly, this is none of my business since I don't own a business, but I'm curious...

With more people working and all the new releases this year: books, PE, resin, plastic kits, dolls, etc., and all the new faces on the DGs (and not just armor DG), as well as 1/72 kits from Dragon and CAN-DO metal toys, along with complaints against online companies, LotRs figures in white metal, and this and that and so on, how was 2003 for you? (Whew! That was a mouthful ;-)).

* Did business pick up along with the economy?
* What's hot and what's not? Resin? PE, plastic?
* Are dolls still "in" and popular?
* How about toys and crafts? Did more toys and crafts push out "adult hobby" items?
* How did R/C and railroad do?
* What did modelers "do" in 2003? Buy more kits? Buy more tools? Buy more airbrushes/ compressors?
* What needs improvement and what doesn't? (Lower paint prices? New maker of wooden bases? Longer store hours? Better distributors? More sales or contests?)
* Your two cents?

Feel free to write what you wish; you don't have to answer my questions above.

Here's wishing all store, online, and hobby business owners a Happy Holidays and wonderful 2004!

Peter
