Subject:  Tricks with CA Glue - Adventures in stickinessList thread.

 From:  Hassan
This summer I was traveling in Palm Springs where they have a outdoor giant
flea market. There was a table where a vendor was demonstrating a CA glue.
It was cheap at $12.00 [US] for two large bottles. I brought 4 bottles.Well,
I never checked the thickness of the glue, mostly due to someone cute
holding my arm.

When I got home, I was starting a build of an S-Model resin transport truck.
It's part of a diorama I was commissioned to build. Of course you need CA
glue to glue resin, and it was time to try out the new CA.glue. I use this
method of application, small plastic tub tops. Like the kind on margarine
containers. I put a little of the glue in the top, and use a sewing needle
to put glue on the model parts. You can use very small amounts of glue to do
this. I cut the top of the new bottle, and a more than usual amount of glue
spilled out. Hmmm... thin I thought as I cleaned up the mess. Drops of glue
were everywhere on the workbench, except in the plastic top I wanted to use.
So I started to put glue in the plastic top again.

As I tipped the bottle, "she who must be obeyed", decided to come into my
workspace and ask me a long complicated, irritating, question. I forgot I
was pouring glue, a VERY THIN glue. and held the bottle pointed down for a
bit too long. Out came about 2/3 of the bottle. All over my hands, the
workbench, the model parts, and my lap. Both hands were glued together, both
legs were glued together along with the pants I was wearing. The model was
one lump of plastic. It took about an hour to remove the glue from my hands
and legs. House smelled like Acetone for days. The pants were a total loss,
along with that Polish truck. "She Who must be obeyed" was untouched. Worse,
I still did not answer her question. So she followed me around the entire
time I was getting lose needling me for an answer.

Maybe I should have spilled the glue somewhere else?

I still have three bottles of that stuff in the fridge. Want one?
