Dany hit the nail on the head Andy!
The guys at Hobby Junction are nice, the prices are good for Canada (I notice Eastern
European kits are expensive, but kits from the Orient are a decent deal). And there
are cases and drawers FULL of aftermarket stuff - Ultracast, TW. You have to get the
key and start rooting around. Of course, to keep you going there's free coffee at the
back where the train guys hang out... They have gotten to the point there is so much
stock you need a grabber thingy to reach the top kits. It's almost time for
scaffolding in there! It's nuts.
UDisco is run in a much more austere manner. Don't forget Universal Hobbies next door
(same store, higher prices, but some different things - don't ask, I don't know
why...).
UDisco often have deals on some kit, and there are two floors to explore! You can
find stacks of OOP kits there sometimes. Mostly Tamiya and other mainstream
manufacturers' stuff, no aftermarket stuff.
And for an excellent selection of modelling magazines, check out Chapters on the west
Island, at St. Jean (St. Johns) Blvd. They have Figurines, Military Modelling, Steel
Masters and much more scattered over the news stands. Crap for books though... Then
go a block north for a good souvlaki at Arachova's.
Can you tell I was just in Montreal over the holidays?
Cheers
