Pete,

You say you'll have to scratchbuild a lot and then "rant" about how none of the existing huls gives you the right angles and the like. Just scratchbuild the lot! It really isn't that hard, especially when the good folks at GDLS are going to a lot of trouble to keep the visible surfaces really smooth for lower radar signiture. Find a vehicle with a suspension that you like and see if you can get a kit in the sale bin at a show. Given the size of the vehicle, the 7 roadwheels must be relatively small in diameter. Why not pick up an _old_ Tamiya LVTP7 kit for the wheels and track. It should be cheap and you won't care so much about throwing the rest of the kit in the spares bin. Everything else can be made from plastic sheet without too much trouble.
