Hi guys,

Like Frank (and others), I have been writing in-box and some build reviews for some time and from the feedback these are generally appreciated by many so they can see what is in the box when the kit first comes out without having to wait for build reviews that generally take a month or so to appear.

I feel in-box and build reviews compliment each other, one lets people know what they are getting and the other highlights any traps or problems during construction something obviously an in-box review can show in full, but they can identify any glaring deficiencies if the kit is given a thorough going over.

As those who do these reviews will know they take time to research the kit, do the images (after all the net is basically a visual medium) and write a detailed review. A review of an average sized full kit usually takes a minimum of five hours (usually more) and would hate to think that is a waste of time?

As to building kits I enjoy a quick build of a well fitting kit (the Tamiya Cromwell/Centaur as Paul mentioned is probably one of the best kits to build straight from the box for it’s fit and details) as well as getting my teeth into a lesser kit to fix the problems and get it go together (a bit of a challenge makes for a satisfying model) and this is where a build review can be helpful.

Cheers
Terry A
