Paul,
Yeah, I'm in Calcutta (I was "outsourced"), and trust me, the curries aren't something I'd write home about. They're okay, but boy would I kill for a good burger right now. I guess one can get kinda tired of curry (aka masala) after eating nothing but for more than a year. You can get beef and chips at the British club every Thursday night at the British High Commision, but it just isn't the same. Otherwise, it's chicken, mutton (goat, not lamb) or fish. Not exactly the center of haute cuisine.
Anyway, there really isn't much here in the way of modelling or armor. There's a little Paki Chaffee sitting on the maidan (local park) that's left over from one of the Indo-Pakistan wars (back when Bangladesh was East Pakistan). Then there's a couple of old M48's and M60's lying around somewhere near the Hoogly river adjacent to Ft. William. I'll have to post pictures at some point.
No model shops worth a darn, though (at least that I know of). Maybe I'll have to take a quick trip to Singapore one of these days...
Later,
Randy |
