Isn't it interesting that the major categories ignored (almost) by the manufacturers are WWI and early WWII French armor. I'd love to see the whole plethora of those colorful French tanks released -- I'm so friggin' sick of Panzer Grey and Dunkelgelb! Unfortunately, since there's little hope of much spinoff kits from the French tanks, I doubt we'll see many of them. Asode from a PLO R-35 spinoff that mated the tank with teh Czech 4.7cm gun, the only conversion options are those the German's did for the 21st Panzer in Normandy. The Poles are doing some interesting kits on the Lorraine schlepper chassis. The Emhar WWI Mark IV and Whippet tanks were a start but they're really basic. Sure would love to see DML or Tamiya do a Mk V, V*, V** with the male/female/hermaphrodyte options. Heck, why isn't there a model of the Mark I -- the FIRST tank? They also could milk the cow for a German beutie (booty) Panzer -- a refurbished captured British rhomboid. There are some interesting post-WWI rhomboid tanks with Russian Civil War markings, too. I'm old enough to remember when the options for armor fans were none. Revell's Sherman, Long Tom and M4 tractor and the Aurora 1/48th Panther/Centurion/Stalin/Type 95/M46 Paton were the start of what's become an incredible range of choices for us today. Hope to live to see what the next 20 or so years will bring ;-)
