| I got started in 1998 by looking at Military Modelcraft and deciding if submissions that poor could be published then I had a shot at it too. Technical/artistic expectations are generally these-- A good SLR camera; slide film; appropriate lights (although daylight can be used it's hard to control); try to document the model as you build it; being able to write and describe your ordeal in such a way that holds the reader's interest. Apart from that, the expectations of magazine editors vary from publication to publication. |
