Unfortunately, there are no convienient hobby shops near me in chicago. The nearest is 20+ miles away. I have gone to a shop near my parents house in Michigan when I go to visit. They have lots of everything, at higher prices than I can get on the net. For just 1 item, yes it is cheaper to get it at the shop if I am there. However, most online shops(squadron comes to mind) have levels of of pricing for shiping, i.e. $5 shipping for up to $40 or something like that. Therefore if I am buying a bunch of things at once, then online it is.

So in general, I buy most things online for those reasons.
