I remember "Adventures in Scale Modeling." I couldn't stand the host and equated him to the recent hosts of "This Old House" in where the TOH hosts couldn't build like Bob Villa. More often than not, the TOH host just got in the way of construction.
In fact, if you look closely, some of the tour guild and master modelmakers didn't like the host either, as shown in their body language.
Good thing AiSM used the "cooking show" approach in which models were constructed many steps in advance.
I believe both shows suffered from being half-an-hour. There's only so much one can show in half-an-hour.
